Are you fortunate enough to have a resident Golden Orb in your garden? We are and what a magnificent member of the Arachnid family (that’s right, spiders are not insects but Arachnids – 8 legs, eight letters) with his yellow joints and shimmering web, especially when Apollo the Sun smiles on it!

ciao tutti…. the Basil on the deck is in flower and attracts butterflies and insects. The Little Cellar Rat was delighted to have a little blue-banded bee visit yesterday. You have to look closely but you will see him. He is welcome to be a breakfast guest again.

We’ve had a little light rain overnight and the Calliandras are in flower. A lovely sight to wake up to here on the Hill. Better still, the blue wrens are back in the garden after too long an absence. You hear them before you see them.

The Little Cellar Rat has some very healthy rosemary bushes in the Winery Herb Patch. Don’t for get to pick up some pieces when you call in.
Not limited to just roast lamb, rosemary adds another layer of flavour to that tray of mixed roasted vegetables (sweet potato, eggplant, capsicum, swede) buona cucina….. alla prossima!
