If you are getting out and about this weekend, the district is looking amazing in spite of the lack of rain and very dry conditions: cane is still being harvested, new green shoots are back into the growth swing, Macadamia trees are being planted by the minute and the green or white plastic guards are a dead give-away.
If there’s a deliciously honeyed perfume in the air it’s likely to be the Macadamia flowers so keep a lookout in coming months for Macadamia honey …. if you can find it!

Our wines, fortified and liqueurs are all made here in the winery. We don’t use preservatives. People often ask.. well then, how does it keep? The answer… how has wine kept for around 5 000 years …. alcohol, of course!!
We don’t use animal products in filtering. that means no fish, egg or milk products. We use block of filter papers and lots of them.

All the wines, fortifieds and liqueurs we offer for tastings and sales are made here in the winery. We used the best of traditional methods and no preservatives such as 220 sulphur dioxide. We don’t use any fish, egg or milk products in the filtering process, but multiple filter papers so our wines a suitable for vegetarians and vegans. It’s all in the taste test…. so come and try for yourself!
Only 4km south of Childers Village, plenty of parking.

Another amazing spring day here on the Hill. The jacarandas, both old and new, are developing into powder puffs of mauve. What an uplift for the heart and soul in these times!

We have had another extremely dry year here, but it’s an ill wind that blows no-one some good and the rosemary bushes are just devouring all this sunshine. Don’t forget to pick up some pieces from the Winery Herb garden when you call into the cellar door for tastings. No sprays whatsoever and the Little Cellar Rat detects a lavender note to them.
Now is a good time to strike cuttings in water, takes about 6 weeks and change the water daily. You will be rewarded! Plant in full sunshine.
