It’s the sounds and smells of a Queensland summer here on the Hill this morning:  whirring of the mower and the delicious smell of freshly cut grass, the whizz of the whipper snipper chomping through that guinea grass and the pllurr of the leaf blower all backed up by the  cicadas tuning up for the hot day ahead.

The Lilypilly with its shiny red berries brings joy and gratitude to the heart, especially knowing  it was given to us by two very dear friends (gardeners extraordinaire who are now enjoying membership of  the Eternal Garden!)

If you’re looking for green mangoes to make Matchstick Pickled Mangoes or Mango Chutney, the Little Cellar Rat has oodles here.  Come and pick as many as you wish. She even has a nifty little ‘Cut and hold’ mango picker.  It’s brilliant and …. no damaged fruit.

We’re particularly proud of our 3 MARYS SPARKLING MUSCAT. It’s made using ‘méthode traditionelle’ the process used for champagne and involves two stages of fermentation plus the skill and commitment of the winemaker.  The end product is worth it. To see those ‘princesses tapped in the tower released’ involves the appreciation of you, the consumer!

All our wines and liqueurs are made here on the Hill, made with pride passion and  respect for tradition with no preservatives added…. alcohol of course is the preservative and in the case of reds, tannin!

Terranzo’s Sicilian-born grandmother Maria arrived in this district as a teenager, embracing the red soil of Childers so similar to the volcanic red soil of her home in the Catania district.  We are proud to name this delicious sweet red in her honour.  salute, Maria!
