Do you use the ‘cook once, eat twice’ principle?  Most meals that have time to mature in the fridge for a day or two take on extra flavour second time around…. pasta sauce, lasagne, a curry. Keep an eye out for local avocados which are just brilliant at this time of year.  Slice them for toast and add a blessing of S and P is the simplest and best but there are so many other ways to enjoy.  Just don’t ever cook them!

The weather turns cooler and you want something quick, tasty and hot for lunch.  don’t overlook reliable Tomato soup.  Liven it up with a shake of chilli, cracked pepper and an anointing of grated pecorino pepato.  buon appetito!

A tray of roasted local sweet potatoes and capsicum makes a delicious and flavoursome warm salad as the days shorten and the weather cools.  Folded through warm penne pasta, evened up with chilli flakes and fresh thyme and you have a great side dish for anything grilled from seafood through to beef, lamb or chicken.
