Do you use the ‘cook once, eat twice’ principle?  Most meals that have time to mature in the fridge for a day or two take on extra flavour second time around…. pasta sauce, lasagne, a curry. And don’t you feel a bit on the clever side when you can have lunch ready in the wink of an eye.  Warm, tasty and flavoursome.  Left-overs tick all the boxes! buona cucina e buon  appetito!!

Keep an eye out for local avocados which are just brilliant at this time of year.  Slice them for toast and add a blessing of S and P is the simplest and best but there are so many other ways to enjoy.  Just don’t ever cook them!

The weather turns cooler and you want something quick, tasty and hot for lunch.  don’t overlook reliable Tomato soup.  Liven it up with a shake of chilli, cracked pepper and an anointing of grated pecorino pepato.  buon appetito!
